Finding Keys or "Do" on Different Pitches from a Tuning Fork
At first I went into this exercise with complete confidence but the as I progressed through the different pitches, I found that it became more difficult each time if I tried to shift the solfège of A440 and find do according to that. I think perhaps it is because the previous key, or the most used key of A = so (D), is lingering in my mind and interfering with the new set of solfège I am trying to sing. I think this has to be overcome by really establishing the relations of each solfège deeper in my mind through more practice, to the point it can override the other influencing factors such as other keys previously sung or the commonly used D=do key. Also, finding which solfège to use to find each pitch was somewhat of a challenge because it requires a little bit of mind browsing of which solfège I can access more easily to find each note.
P.S: As pointed out in class and in the response email, my F=do and Eb=do in the previous video was incorrect. Again, I believe this is because of the F# that I was so used to in the A=so key, so in stead I sang a so-mi instead of la-fa. The Eb was completely collateral damage as I tried to find it from the F# that was sharp. Here are both corrections
